4 – Fiddle Me This // Jason Mowery, Multi-Instrumentalist for Clint Black, Shania Twain, & More

In Episode 4, SMI sits down in “the bedroom” with Jason Mowery. Jason’s a songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist who has toured with Clint Black, Shania Twain, Keith Urban, John Fogerty, and many other killer acts. He is definitely the most talented guy in most every room he enters. FIDDLE ME THIS–can Brandon and (the less cool) Jason hang?

During the episode, Jason and the guys talked about his beginnings in the northern Indiana bluegrass scene. About the Northern Indiana Bluegrass Association:

Northern Indiana Bluegrass (NIBGA) was formed in 1976 by a group of musicians from the Fort Wayne area who liked to play and listen to bluegrass music. They formed a not for profit organization whose purpose is to educate the public to, and promote the awareness of, Bluegrass and Old Time Country Music. The clubs first outdoor festival was held in the fall of that year and has been held every Memorial and Labor Day weekend since with one or two exceptions. More on the NIBGA:

More about all of the crazy fiddle stuff Jason Mowery does:

Jason is a renowned fiddler, having won first place in the Indiana, Illinois, and Ohio State Fiddling Championships. Jason has performed bluegrass, newgrass, old-time, jazz, swing, Celtic, country, folk, Texas-style, blues, rock and classical. In addition to fiddling, Jason is a mandolinist, songwriter/composer, and sings baritone harmony.

Finally–even one of the greatest musicians in America can learn a thing or two from the YouTubes! Learn the conga like Jason did for a gig with John Fogerty:
